Inland Kayaking / Canoeing
With Interstate Park being so amazing, we’re used to celebrating all things River, but Polk County has over 400 lakes, too! For anyone looking for an easy, no-current paddle or who wants to have the flexibility of being done whenever you please, a lake is a beautiful place to kayak, canoe, or stand up paddleboard. Here are a few of our favorites:
Named for all the American Lotus on the water (you might call them lily pads), there’s something a little magical about drifting through a sea of flowers.
A bonus of this lake is the wonderful grassy area alongside it, perfect for picnics!
Located within Interstate Park, this is a tranquil choice: only nonmotorized craft are allowed on this lake.
